This personal essay was written throughout this year as I went on my journey of trying to conceive while simultaneously working through and processing the intimate partner violence my mom experienced with my bio-dad.
What message would you like to share with those viewing your work? That we are complex and complicated human beings, more abundant and expansive than the worst things we've experienced in our lifetimes and those that came before us. That yes, we survive, and yes, we thrive, but the magic of us is our capacity to still love and always love and be good at loving despite and in spite of all the ways we've been harmed. Hold onto that. Hold onto this. As my work claims, "We are blooming more than bleeding."
